Petitions

Have you seen volunteers carrying the six referendum petitions and the one initiative petition?

All seven of these petitions are nonpartisan. If the targeted bills go into law, all Arizona citizens will be adversely affected:

  • AZ loses almost 2 billion annually
  • sales taxes are raised to plug the shortfall
  • services may be cut by local governments and school boards
  • legal voters are purged from the early voters’ list and don’t receive their mail in ballots
  • county election officials can’t use grant money to cover election shortfalls
  • an identifier is placed on your ballot
  • the senate determines what elections are fair and which elections are to be scrutinized
  • outside big pockets continue to buy candidates and hide behind third parties

Literacy Connects, The Arizona Ground Game, and the League of Women Voters, which are all non-partisan organizations, and individual citizens are working to put these six referendums and one initiative on the 2022 ballot so that the voters can decide.

Doug Ducey said the money the state received last year was helpful and used with “integrity” but signed HB2569 into law anyway.

Voters' Right to Know Act official summary
Voters' Right to Know Act application and full text
What would happen if the Voters’ Right to Know Act becomes law?
Although ordinary citizens’ contributions to a candidate's campaign are capped and their names and addresses must be disclosed publicly, big spenders can hide their contributions. This initiative would require all major contributors to identify themselves if they invest more than $5,000 in support of a campaign or a candidate. Arizonans overwhelmingly support ending Dark Money spending. Recent polls have shown the initiative to be 80-85% favorable in Arizona, with broad support from Republicans, Democrats and Independent voters.
